How to save Instagram Stories
Saving Stories works a little differently from posts, because Stories don't have a permanent link.
- Open InstaSave and go to Story saver.
- Type the username of a public account.
- InstaSave shows the Stories they've posted in the last 24 hours.
- Tap the ones you want, or save them all. Photos stay photos and videos keep their sound.
- Find them in the InstaSave album in Photos and in your library, tagged with the creator and date.
Why Stories are the hardest thing to keep
Posts stay on a profile. Stories don't. The most practical things people share, like opening hours, discount codes, event details and quick tutorials, often live only in a Story. If you don't act within a day, the moment passes.
Screenshotting a Story gets you a cropped, compressed still with the interface on top. For a video Story, you get nothing useful at all. InstaSave saves the actual photo or video file, at its original quality.
What makes the Story saver useful
No need to open the Story
Type a public username and everything posted in the last 24 hours appears.
Full quality
The original photo or video, not a screenshot.
Saved with creator and date
Every Story is filed and searchable in your library.
Save one or all
Pick the frames that matter, or keep the whole set.
Type a username, that's it
You don't need to find the Story in your feed, tap through it, or open it at all. Type the public username, see what's there, and save what matters. It's quicker when you're catching up on a few accounts at once.
As a supporting detail: because you aren't opening the Story in Instagram, you won't show up as a viewer. That's simply how saving from a username works. The point is keeping useful Stories before they expire.
Stories with context
A saved Story without context is just a random photo in your camera roll. InstaSave files each one under its creator, with the date it was posted, so “that menu from the bakery last spring” is a quick search away. Want more than Stories? InstaSave also handles videos and photos.
Good reasons to save a Story
The Stories people save tend to be the ones they need later. A local shop's restock announcement. The schedule for a weekend market. A friend's recommendation list for Mexico City. A stylist's quick tip on tying a scarf. A creator's poll results you want to reference in your own work.
None of that comes back once the 24 hours are up, and you rarely realize you need it until it's gone. A Story saver turns “I'll remember that” into a file you can actually open next week.
Saving responsibly
InstaSave works only with public accounts, the same Stories anyone can see. It's built for keeping useful information, not for keeping tabs on people. Save what's helpful to you, credit creators if you share their work, and leave private accounts private.
Every saved Story is filed under the account that posted it, so if you do share something, crediting the creator takes a second.
