Step by step: Instagram to camera roll
The first time, iOS asks for permission to add to your photos. After that, it's one tap.
- Install InstaSave and open it once. Allow it to add photos, so it can save to your camera roll.
- In Instagram, open the video, tap share, then Copy link.
- Switch to InstaSave. It detects the link. Tap Save.
- Open Photos. Your video is in the InstaSave album, and in Recents.
- Edit, trim, AirDrop or watch offline like any other video on your iPhone.
Why web downloaders are a pain on iPhone
Browser-based download sites were built for computers. On iPhone, the file often ends up in the Files app, not Photos, so you have to find it and save it again. Along the way you dodge pop-ups, fake download buttons and redirects.
An app avoids all of that. InstaSave saves directly to Photos, keeps working with copied links, and doesn't send you through a maze of ads.
Save videos directly to your camera roll
Saves directly to Photos
No Files app detour. Videos appear in their own album.
Full quality with sound
The original file, never a screen recording.
Library backup
Move your organized library to a new device.
Works on iPad
Same app, same library, bigger screen.
Your camera roll, kept tidy
Saved videos go into a dedicated “InstaSave” album, so they don't get lost among your own photos. At the same time, InstaSave's library keeps the caption, creator and date for each video, which your camera roll can't do.
Want the clip of that pasta technique? Search “pasta” in InstaSave and jump right to it. InstaSave never reads, scans or uploads anything else in your photo library. It only adds what you save.
New iPhone? Bring your library
Library backup, included with your subscription, means your organized library comes with you when you upgrade. Your folders, captions and tags move over, not just the files. It works on iPad too. Looking for Reels specifically? See the Reels downloader guide.
Tips for iPhone users
Copy, then open: InstaSave checks for a copied link when you open it, so the fastest flow is copy in Instagram and switch apps. If you're saving several videos, paste them together on the batch screen instead of switching back and forth.
Storage: full-quality video takes space. If your iPhone is nearly full, consider turning on iCloud Photos with “Optimize iPhone Storage,” so originals live in iCloud while smaller versions stay on your phone.
Sharing: saved videos behave like any other video in Photos, so AirDrop, Messages and editing apps all work normally.
Do I need a computer or a website?
No. Everything happens in one app. There's nothing to install on a computer and no website to visit, so there's no juggling files between devices.
You also don't need to sign in. InstaSave has no account system, and you never enter your Instagram password. Install it, allow it to add to Photos, and you're ready. If something isn't working the way you expect, email and a real person will reply within 24 hours.
