You want an Instagram video in your iPhone's Photos app, right next to your own pictures, where you can watch it, edit it or send it to someone. Instagram doesn't make that easy. Here's the quickest way to do it.
Why It's Harder Than It Should Be
- Instagram's save button only bookmarks videos inside the app
- Instagram's own download option isn't available on every Reel and can add a watermark
- Screen recording catches notifications and lowers quality
- Videos downloaded from websites in Safari land in the Files app, not Photos
How to Save Instagram Videos to Your Camera Roll
Steps
- In Instagram, tap the share icon on the Reel, video or story and choose Copy link
- Open InstaSave and paste the link
- Tap save, and the video goes to your InstaSave library and your camera roll
The first time you save, iPhone asks permission for InstaSave to add to your photos. Allow it, and every future save goes straight to your camera roll.
Photos Work the Same Way
Photos and carousel posts save to your camera roll the same way, in full quality. Read our tips on how to download high quality Instagram photos.
